Thank you to friends... by Cikgu Teh
Dear Datuk Vincent, Mr Poh, Mdm Salina et al,
First off, apologies for writing this message a bit late.
We are all back at our respective stations and back to our daily grind after a most fruitful and memorable trip to Sabah. After the trip we are more determined to see this noble project take flight. On behalf of all the Killerbatch, those who were there and those who couldnt make it this time, I would like to extend our most heartfelt gratitude for the support and kindness in this Asrama Doni project. You have showered us with such great kindness and gracious hospitality that I can truly say that those who were there last week have come to think of KK as our second home. Thank you.
Personally that trip has been a heart wrenchig eye opener for all of us and we shall never take anything for granted from this moment on. We have come to realise that to turn our dreams into reality, we have to build bridges. Dato, you and your crew have been a revelation to us all. We are united in saying that we have never seen any organisation that is so full of warmth and love and esprit de corps that we found in such abundance in SCC. One lady even told me that if she were to be offered a job that paid twice as much as she is getting now, she would not think twice of turning it down. We are all determined to instill in our organisations such a distinguished working culture and atmosphere although we know we would not be able to measure up to SCC. Congratulations!
Dato and friends, we have literally traversed the whole of Sabah with your help and guidance although we know there is much more to see and experience. Honestly we have been from the palace to the jungle, from the sea to the mountains, rafted down river and even witnessed a beauty contest and how we envy the Sabahans! You have captured this spirit of nature and freedom in your way of life and we noticed that when you smile, you smile from your hearts and that is a precious lesson for everyone. This wonderful spirit is prevalent throughout. When I talked to the principal, staff and students of the school, for example, they never complained or blamed anyone for all the shortcomings they face. They were only interested in how they can overcome these obstacles and that augurs well for the people of Sabah and Malaysia. Sekalong bunga for Mdm Martha Bongkok and her staff. We are not forgetting the president of the PIBG, Mr Joisin who is so unselfish in his contributions to the school.
The news about the Asrama Donie project is spreading, thanks to the press and the many postings on the internet by the Killers and people are becoming more aware of the situation in some of the schools in Sabah and that definitely is an important step in overcoming the problem and with this awareness, hopefully this is only the beginning.
There are too many to thank, therefore what we can do is to raise our hands in prayer that we will have a fairytale ending to this project. Dato and friends, the Killerbatch and I promise that we will definitely be back in Sabah very, very soon as we have left a piece of our hearts there. And we still have to unrevel and solve a mystery that still confounds us (I speak for the Killerbatch too). We need to know how the ladies in Sabah can remain so fair, smooth complexioned and pretty, considering that KK is on the coast and the sun there is so hot. So until we solve that mystery, dont be surprised to see us regularly there.
Once again, terima kasih daun keladi.
Have a wonderful life
Teh Sharifuddin Abdullah
